About Korea Plate Notes

Korea Plate Notes is the blog edition of https://koreaplate.com — a guide to restaurants in Korea written for visitors from abroad.

The notes are written by Harrison Hong, who runs four restaurants in Seoul. Each note records one real visit: where it is, what was ordered, what it cost, what a restaurant operator notices, and one practical tip for first-timers.

How the notes are made

  • Visits are unannounced and paid for. Restaurants cannot buy a note.
  • When a note is about a restaurant the editor runs, it is labelled as an owner's note at the top.
  • Paid placements, if any, are always labelled Sponsored and kept apart from the notes.
  • Prices and hours are as seen on the day of the visit and can change.

Languages

Each note is published in English, Korean, Japanese and Thai on koreaplate.com, and on this blog also in Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Vietnamese.
